Start date
2 Mar 21
Learning Method
Remote Delivered CPD

Summary

The SEND Science Hub aims to offer support to those who are delivering science lessons within a special school setting, empowering working in SEND settings to discover the potential of the science curriculum for students.  It will provide the opportunity for delegates to meet once every term to discuss topics that are important to them.  Participants will be invited and encouraged to network with each other, ask for advice and share good practice with colleagues who are working in similar roles.

The agenda will be flexible and responsive to the needs and requests that are made during each meeting.

The strengthening of informal school to school support will create an effective network of information, advice and guidance.

This is a partnership arrangement between Blackfriars Teaching School Alliance and the North Midlands Science Learning Partnership.

The agenda for this meeting will include:

  • Health and Safety update from Rachael Bailey
  • Curriculum presentations
  • Sharing of good practice and ideas

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • discuss and receive updates and share current best practice
  • work collaboratively to identify priorities in science teaching and learning and in science specific professional development for your teams
  • share and develop strategies to address challenges, drawing on expertise as needed from inside and outside of the network
