Working together to support practical work in science RM219 / A15
Summary
Covid has meant schools have needed to reflect on and adjust the way practical work is carried out. This session is an opportunity to work with others on identifying the key purposes of practical work across secondary Science, and examine different approaches schools have been using this term to ensure students are still learning despite restrictions being in place.
This session is aimed at technicians, teachers, Heads of Science and Senior Leaders who want to look at what different schools are doing in terms of practical work and see how they might improve their own offer during this challenging time.
Outcomes

Develop a clear vision for practical work within a Science department

Evaluate different approaches to practical work and when they are best used (group work, demonstrations, virtual experiments)

Identify where further support and training is available
