Teaching practical without the practical? RN298 / C22
How do we teach practical work without practical work? What practical work is possible in a socially distanced classroom? What is the latest guidance from CLEAPPS and the ASE? What practical work can be carried out in non-science classrooms? This session looks at potential strategies to ensure students have an understanding of practical work even if practical work seems impossible.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to
- understand CLEAPPS and ASE guidance on practicals and how to apply them
- use a range of strategies to assist student understanding of practical work
- gain ideas for possible practicals in a socially distanced classroom
