Summary

This course will provide you with the tools and confidence to plan and develop effective teaching and learning strategies for science in upper key stage 2 (UKS2). You will explore ways of bringing the UKS2 curriculum to life through practical ideas and discussion tasks.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • create a manageable approach to teaching science in UKS2
  • identify children's gaps in science knowledge and understanding
  • identify practical approaches to teaching subject-specific content in UKS2
  • describe common misconceptions and consider strategies for dealing with them
