Secondary support for new staff in September / NQTs RX021 / CC01

It covers managing behaviour including for practical work; lesson objectives and outcomes; planning a sequence of learning; questioning and assessment - including formative assessment and top tips for starting your first job (or a new job or new academic year). Each episode will cover the key points, provide activity and a chance for reflection as well as signposting sources of resources/further study.
- Structure learning so that students are clear about learning objectives and you are able to assess whether these have been met.
- recognise how behaviour is different in a science classroom and develop strategies to address this.
- plan a sequence of learning; differentiate between lesson level and longer episodes. Understand how to assess the learning.
- manage your workload effectively by planning ahead and utilising some of the top tips suggested.
