Summary
If you need help raising the profile of science in your school then this is the course for you. Whether you are new to the role of science subject leader or have been the leader for a couple of years you will be supported to bring about change at a whole school level.
You will receive guidance, advice and support to help you raise the profile of science in your school. You will work with experienced primary teachers to explore a range of strategies to create a vision for science teaching and learning. You will also develop techniques to lead a team and ensure good pupil progress at a whole school level.
Over the 4 days you will build your confidence and develop the expertise to support your colleagues to deliver effect and engaging science for your children.
This course will be delivered over a number of sessions, some of which will be delivered remotely on the days and times detailed below, with those later in the year being delivered face to face at the National STEM Learning Centre in York. To participate in full, you will need to ensure you have dedicated time away from the classroom for the remotely delivered elements of this course, as you would if this were a face to face course. We will take regular breaks and structure the content so that it is interactive and impactful. You must attend all sessions in order to receive the bursary, and sessions will not be recorded. Notes
The National STEM Learning Centre will be following all government guidance and regulations to minimise risk of Covid-19 transmission, including the deep cleaning of our accommodation and teaching rooms and maintaining social distancing during course sessions and meal times.
