Summary

The network offers ongoing support to teachers moving beyond their NQT year as a science teacher,.

The network aims to build on the foundations of their NQT year, supporting RQTs with further professional development.  As well as equipping them for the new demands asan RQT, the network will develop their potential as leaders as well as extend their subject specific pedagogy, looking at the latest innovations in teaching and learning based on current research

Session 1 Thursday 14th November 2019

Well being and personal resilience

This session will look at how we can all improve our work life balance, identify and reduce stress within ourselves and develop strategies for coping

Session 2 Thursday 16th January 2020

Innovations in teaching and learning

This session will look at the latest in teaching ideas based on current research and expand your understanding of teachers as professionals

Session 3 Thursday 5th March 2020

Curriculum coordination and the use of data

This session takes a look at what's involved in leading an area of the curriculum and how data can inform our decision making both in class and across a team

Session 4 Thursday 30th April 2020

Early Leadership opportunities

The art of leading from the front looking at communication, observation and feedback and creating change within a department

Session 5 Thursday 11th June 2020

Looking forward

Exploring leadership pathways and career opportunities getting delegates to consider their next steps
