Each session is led by experienced practitioners and will cover innovation in teaching practice, expertise, assessment, resilience and well-being

Conveying enthusiasm and developing self-awareness as a science teacher
You care about the science you teach and how your students learn - so how do you show this in lessons? This session will explore ways to develop greater self-awareness of your communication and behaviour while teaching science, to try and develop your students’ enthusiasm for learning science.

Working scientifically in the new chemistry GCSE
Focusing on core practicals, we will unpick the skills underpinning working scientifically and explore effective teaching approaches.
Workshop 1b
Enhancing literacy and developing ideas for extended writing in science
Consider how to encourage your students to turn short sentences into extended pieces of writing through the use of teaching
approaches used to teach key stage 4 English

Focusing on core practicals, we will unpick the skills underpinning working scientifically and explore effective teaching approaches.

Stretch and challenge
Explore a range of strategies that can effectively be utilised to ensure challenge for all students, including high attainers.

Network over lunch and find out more about what the STEM community has on offer, including STEM Ambassadors, exam boards, ASE and much more.

Focusing on core practicals, we will unpick the skills underpinning working scientifically and explore effective teaching approaches.
Workshop 3b
Maths in science
Explore a range of strategies to effectively teach maths in science whilst developing your own subject knowledge. Learn tricks and tips from an established head of science.
