Summary

 

Theme: Girls in STEM

 

In a fantastic environment this conference will provide you with all the answers on how to encourage girls to get involved with STEM subjects.

 

You will attend 2 workshops:

  • Girls and Science Capital
  • Encouraging child-led STEM investigations

Our key note speaker Helen Wilson will share her wealth of STEM knowledge and experience.  Helen is a primary science consultant and an Affiliate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University.  She jointly led the successful Thinking, Doing, Talking science projects (2013-18).

There will also be STEM ambassadors on hand to address your queries and share best practice.

The conference will end with the opportunity to explore the exciting National Museum of Computing.

IMPORTANT: FEES FOR NQTs ARE REDUCED TO £50 OR £100 (for independent schools)

 

 

Outcomes

 

  • You will be confident to use the strategies exemplified to support girls to make good progress in STEM subjects.
  • Your ability to plan creative science teaching, using the direction of your pupils' ideas/suggestions, will be improved.
