Developing and Implementing effective science assessment RE198 / C44
Summary
Assessment is an important aspect of teaching and learning. A robust assessment system leads to quality teaching and learning.
Participants will be given the opportunity to share their knowledge and understanding of current system of science assessment. The Teacher Assessment Framework (TAF) will be explored in detail. Participants will be given the opportunity to identify strengths and areas of development of Science assessment at their schools.
This session will also aim at planning to embed new powerful assessment strategies and systems in order to ensure quality teaching and learning.
This course is suitable for science co-ordinators and assessment leads.
Outcomes
To have better understanding of exemplary practice of current Science Assessment.
To analyse and evaluate Science assessment at their school
Plan and implement new procedures or strategies for a robust system of assessment.
To be able to assess pupils effectively, ensuring progression
