Summary

We are delighted to invite head teachers, science leads and teachers of science to join us for this year’s event.

About our speakers:

As you are no doubt aware, the way Ofsted inspect science in the classroom is changing.  We welcome Naomi Hiscock, Director of the Primary Science Education Consultancy, with a session titled 'Ofsted -  What to expect? Are you ready?' - This session will explain the procedures during an Ofsted inspection in particular focusing on the role of the science subject leader and how to feel Ofsted ready. This is nothing special, it is simply a matter of being a good subject leader of science.

We also welcome Julie Brown, Head of Education at Practical Action, who will be talking about ways of enriching STEM with the Global Goals.

Lunch is provided, plus time to network with colleagues and find out more about upcoming opportunities for your school, including funding opportunities, support from STEM and ways of accessing free STEM Ambassador support.

Participants will have an opportunity to receive news and updates from the Science Learning Partnership for Essex, Southend & Thurrock region, hear from two guest speakers and take part in two full-length 90-minute STEM workshops:

·         Working scientifically to develop child led enquiry – Bob Cooper

·         Cross curricular science – Claire Seeley

Send TWO colleagues for the price of one – enter booking code SLP1920TY50 when booking multiple places to activate a 50% discount for your school.
