Summary
Are you a new science subject leader? This course will provide support over the autumn term to equip you with essential knowledge to effectively lead science as a core subject. There will be practical advice for getting started and help with the development of your subject leader action plan. We will look at the primary science curriculum and current assessment requirements along with a range of strategies for monitoring science.
The course will consider the new Ofsted framework and explore what great science teaching and learning looks like. As part of a small group, these sessions will enable you to build confidence, share ideas and good practice with others new to the role.
Outcomes
You will be able to:
- understand the role of the science subject leader
- support delivery of the primary science curriculum
- set up and manage processes for leading science effectively
- be part of a network of science leaders
