Summary

Delivering high quality learning in science can increase attainment of students across all subjects in the curriculum. This course looks at how successful mapping of the curriculum for progression from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 can help to ensure that students will achieve their full potential, through being engaged in science, seeing links between subjects and through encouraging higher level thinking.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • ensure that there is a clear mapping for progression from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2
  • look at how to plan for conducting investigations in greater depth to allow the development of cross-curricular links with literacy and numeracy
  • create strategies to develop higher quality thinking skills of students.
