Summary

This one day CPD activity comprising of a morning and afternoon session. You can attend one or both sessions depending upon your needs.

The morning session is aimed at new and aspiring heads of science and will focus on developing your vision and leadership skills to enable you to lead an effective and vibrant science team.

The afternoon session is aimed at existing heads of science as well as those aspiring to leadership or who are new to post. It will enable you to improve your leadership and management skills in order to help your team teach more effectively so that your students can achieve their potential.

Outcomes

You will be able to

  • use data analysis and information to identify key priorities for departmental improvement
  • analyse common challenges and explore solutions to address them
  • evaluate and select strategies to implement successful teamwork and lead change
  • develop a vision for teaching and learning in science by sharing ideas with other new leaders
