Summary

This course is aimed at students, researchers and technical staff with an interest in histology procedures. It covers the reasons behind histology in research and the importance of using different techniques in processing, sectioning and staining. The course includes demonstrations and practical sessions presented by experienced technicians.

 

 

Outcomes

To develop a working ability to:
• Recognise and embed a range of mouse tissues
• Cut wax microtome sections from a range of mouse tissues
• Perform PAS and a Perls stain on mouse tissue

Gain a better understanding of what needs to be carried out to achieve the required end point
