Teacher Assessment in Primary Science (TAPS) RE198 / I03
Day 1 will introduce the TAPS Focused Assessment approach to develop teaching and assessment of primary science. We will consider the skills of Working Scientifically, focused pupil recording, the role of the teacher and the formative use of assessment.
Participants will be asked to carry out 'gap tasks', selecting TAPS activities to trial in their class/school.
Day 2 will explore how to develop active pupil involvement and responsive teaching. We will use moderation for professional learning and consider how to develop a whole school shared understanding of assessment and progression in primary science .
We can develop an affordable bespoke CPD event which is delivered locally to you for:
- individuals such as: subject leaders, coordinators, heads of departments
- a team/whole department
- a network of schools/groups
- multi-academy trusts
- initial teacher education
