Summary

At these free network events, heads of science and science teachers will have the opportunity to consider the changes to content and assessment of practical skills and maths at KS4 in 2016. They will preview the Edexcel proposed specification content and core practicals.  Teachers will have the opportunity to discuss with colleagues and use and take away some free planning and classroom support materials.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • understand the context of GCSE science reform through a preview of the proposed specification content and assessment models for Edexcel GCSE (9-1) Biology, Chemistry,Physics and Combined Science
     
    consider the changes to the assessment of practical skills and maths, the impact on teaching and learning, and the delivery of the proposed core practicals with our GCSE specialists and colleagues
  • use and take away the first examples of our free GCSE planning and classroom materials designed to support students of all abilities develop these vital skills.
