CSI "Creative Science Investigations" - taking a Forensic approach to Secondary Science RB298 / C01

Are you on the look-out for a new approach to practical science?

Would you like to be the first to receive a new set of science resources linked to the National Curriculum and main exam board specifications including required practicals?

Do you have an interest in forensic science and would love the opportunity to inspire pupils in this context in a meaningful and practical way?

If so - this course is for you! Usually £175 per place, but launching at NO COST - funded by Northern Lights Science Learning Partnership.

This brand new one-day course is equally suited to experienced heads of science looking to refresh their SoWs to RQTs, ITTs and technicians looking for something different to bring into the classroom.  Being offered at a special "launch" price, this CPD has been designed through the Euro4Science ERASMUS project, which seeks to use CSI techniques to create challenges which pupils can solve while learning STEM subjects in an active and exciting way.

All activities have been reviewed with a UK educational consultant and explicitly mapped to both UK National Curriculum statements for key stages 3 and 4 and linked to the relevant AQA, Edexcel and OCR criteria. Core Practicals, Required Practicals and PAGs are directly referenced for ease of use.

The day will start with a keynote from Prof. Luis Souto (Biology and Forensic Genetics),  visiting us from the University of Aveiro  especially to launch these training materials in the U.K. During the course you will be the first in the U.K. to access these resources and take away the accompanying written guides (teacher/technician and student) to use in your school!

You will be able to try the various practical activities contained within the CSI Toolbox and discuss these with other science specialists. Facilitated by STEM subject specialists including:
