Primary Science in focus RD124 / C06
Summary
Come along for an afternoon of networking and engaging with the local and national support available for primary science and STEM. This free afternoon will include a keynote speaker, primary science workshops for senior leaders and science leads, as well as the opportunity to network with your local colleagues and speak to organisations who can help you to improve and promote STEM in your school. Organisations involved include your local Science Learning Partnership, your local STEM Ambassador Hub, STEM Learning, CLEAPSS, Primary Science Teaching Trust, the Association for Science Education and the University of Southampton.
Keynote: During this talk Jason will explain what CLEAPSS does for you, and how to access their resources. CLEAPSS are the people who ensure that you and your children are able to undertake the practical work that you want to do. They provide schools with advice about how to safely manage activities that you may otherwise avoid and inspiration for activities you never even thought of. Be prepared to get hands on!
Outcomes

- discuss current good practice in primary science
- recognise your own good practice, and identify areas for development
- reflect on ways to translate ideas to your school context, and plan for action
