Chemistry for non-specialists: TSSP Darwen - invite only RA308 / A01
Summary
Chemistry for non specialists: an introduction is specifically aimed at teachers who are not chemistry specialists and wish to become more confident at teaching chemistry. It will take a hands on approach to a range of topics that are being set by the different boards for GCSE with a practical element during the session.
This course provides a useful introduction to those teachers considering the main five day Chemistry for non-specialists course offered by STEM learning in conjunction with the Royal Society of Chemistry
Outcomes
By the end of the course participants will have:
- increased their understanding of chemistry topics at Key Stage 3 and 4
- increased their confidence in the teaching of chemistry
- gained awareness of relevant and interesting practical experiments and to help inspire and engage their students

Participants from outside the UK will be charged the course fee and an additional £120 per day plus VAT.
Additional information
For courses at the National STEM Learning Centre in York, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course.
