New GCSE required practicals: physics (for teachers and technicians) RB298 / G50
Struggle to set up equipment for physics lessons?
Never tried physics experiments for yourself?
Work in a school with no physics specialist?
…Do you have cupboards full of physics equipment but have no idea what it is used for?
If the answer to any of the above questions is 'Yes' - then this is the day for you! You will also have the opportunity to bring along photographs of any equipment you do not use or do not know what its purpose is and we will try to solve the mystery for you!
Led by Institute of Physics Coach and physics teacher Cara Hutton (MInstP) and Senior Science Technician Laura Moyns (RSci Tech), the day will be completely 'hands-on', allowing you the opportunity to understand and try out the GCSE physics required practicals.
You will be able to:
- Try out many physics experiments for yourself
- Identify the purpose of unknown equipment
- Network and share ideas with other teachers and technicians from across the region
