Summary

Looking to improve performance of higher prior attainers (including pupil premium)? This CPD will enable you to consider a range of key strategies to help you achieve this in your science department. It has been designed for science departments and teachers that have a desire to improve attainment outcomes for their higher prior attainers including those who are pupil premium. It would also be useful to attend if you are a new member of staff in a department that delivers triple science or your staff have found the change to current GCSE specifications challenging.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • Explore strategies for developing mathematical, learning and revision skills with students
  • Investigate the new assessment demands in triple science such as controlled assessments and extended writing
  • Stretch and challenge the most able to ensure they attain the highest grades
  • Incorporate strategies to ensure those higher prior attainers who are pupil premium also meet the highest standard.
