Focusing the pupils’ recording of practicals on the learning objectives releases time for thinking and talking, as well as producing work that is sharply assessable.

The participants will:

  • understand the meaning of focused recording;
  • be able to plan sequences of lessons with learning objectives that cover the Working Scientifically section of the National Curriculum;
  • understand how to encourage pupils’ recording to produce meaningful ongoing assessments of their learning.
