Summary
With the abolishment of KS3 SATs, and the relaxing of the Science National Curriculum due to increase in Academies and Free Schools KS3 has seen a lot of change. Some schools adopting a five year GCSE course, others have stuck to a three year KS3 and many other models in between. This session is to consider the different approaches to KS3, assessment and monitoring and how this can be reported. The session is discussion based and uses case studies. Please do bring examples of what your school are doing. Audience: KS3 co-ordinators, Science teachers, curriculum design managers
Outcomes
You will be able to:
- describe key issues arising from changes to the curriculum and their implications
- plan and evaluate ways of embedding the new curriculum in schemes of learning
