Summary
Does your school have non-science specialist teaching science at Key Stage 3? Indeed, are you a non-science specialist teaching science?
This course is designed so that you will be able to teach pre-GCSE level science confidently whilst developing a repertoire of practical activities and embed working scientifically in your everyday teaching.
A choice of up to four days of discounted CPD* designed to help non-science specialists teach science confidently.
This programme is aimed at improving subject knowledge and confidence of non- specialist teachers, NQTs and RQTs. It has been designed flexibly allowing you to choose the sessions most relevant to your teaching.
Day four is suitable for teachers who are relatively inexperienced in teaching biology, or those looking to enhance and extend their skills and update their teaching strategies for biology.
Outcomes
You will be able to:
- improve your confidence and competence in teaching biology, chemistry and physics
- plan for inclusion of working scientifically
- identify opportunities to develop practical science skills in lessons
