Summary

Working scientifically is a very significant component of the new science GCSE’s examinations. This course will give participants the opportunity to consider how to deliver the required core practicals effectively and how best to develop their students’ understanding so that they can not only perform well in the examinations, but find science a more engaging and stimulating experience throughout.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • Develop an increased understanding of the role and importance of practical work in science lessons and the relationship between subject content and working scientifically. 
  • Employ practical strategies and techniques to teach science more effectively
  • Consider how best to deliver the Required / Core Practicals to maximise student learning.
