Summary

We want to encourage children to see themselves as Global Citizens and that we all have a part to play in protecting everything and everyone within it, no matter where we live.  We look at how to encourage children to invent, innovate and campaign in order to explore careers and future aspirations, and help them identify what they feel passionate about solving.

This session will focus on the challenge of clean water and sanitation.  We will explore resources, employers and challenges you can set to engage children in science and careers; making them aware of employers and exciting inventions and innovations taking place regionally and internationally.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • Use the Global Sustainable Development Goals as a context for STEM teaching
  • Make links between the goals and the importance of STEM skills
  • Set a challenge for your children based around the need for clean water and sanitation
