Supporting SEND in primary science RA198 / E01
Summary
It can be challenging teaching children who have special needs, this programme is aimed specifically at primary teachers, covering aspects of differentiation and adapting practical tasks for children of all abilities.
The sessions will look at sensory difficulties and how to organise differentiated investigations. There will be sessions on how the outdoors can be used to support children's behaviour and develop their group working skills. We will look at how to structure practical work so that all children can develop their working scientifically skills.
Outcomes
- Enhance understanding of issues facing pupils working below age related expectations or other challenges
- Develop techniques to support children in primary lessons
- Recognise and select from highly effective strategies for teaching and learning in primary science, in areas such as differentiation, assessment, behaviour and resource management.
