Inspiring Science - Primary Science Network RC831 / D13
Summary
Building the capacity of Subject Leaders to lead effectively, instigate change and improve outcomes for children as learners in science, beyond their own classrooms alone, the three Subject Leader meetings across the year will raise issues of particular concern and provide updates regarding latest news about primary science, as well as feature moderation of outcomes, beginning with a base line task in session 1. The programme would also be influenced by the Subject Leaders themselves and likely feature other aspects of the role, e.g. effective leadership / monitoring activity.
Teacher and Subject Leader network meetings
Developing teacher understanding of the subject knowledge required to assess the science curriculum programmes of study.
Highlighting key messages and offering practical solutions to assessing learning outcomes - knowing what to look for and what indicates 'subject security' (or 'mastery') at each point.
Note : Sessions are scheduled differently this year, so that Y6 and Y2 teachers (in particular) have a steer in advance of making end of Key Stage Teacher Assessment judgements.
