Recognition, Insight and Shaping the Future
The event will be opened by Reading's Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Teaching and Learning and include;
- an insight in to how technicians at the University of Reading have become Associate Fellows and Fellows of the Higher Education Academy
- behind the scenes access to the new Film, Theatre and Television Building and the Controlled Environment Facility led by the technical staff working in these areas, plus the Cole Museum of Zoology
- a national and local update from HEaTED and opportunity to discuss your training requirements and developing your own training provision
- time to meet with technicians from across the South East and build important collaborative links

Membership & Networks Manager
The session provides an overview of the current issues facing technical staff and the wide range of support available from HEaTED for technical staff development, including local and national training and other network events. The session is interactive, allowing attendees to shape the future HEaTED provision in their region and own institution, through training needs analysis, and provides information on becoming a training provider through HEaTED. We will also be able to provide an update on Professional Registration opportunities for Arts Technicians and signpost routes for further support.

Outcomes
The HEaTED network events provide a forum for discussion and communication between technical managers, technical staff, and staff development/HR colleagues from across the regions. The network promotes training events, the sharing of knowledge, skills and best practice amongst technical staff and increased awareness of the opportunities and facilities provided by HEaTED and all member institutions.
