GCSE chemistry - the new bits RA224 / F01
Summary
It is important to keep up-to-date with current science matters, including pure subject knowledge, topic specific developments and general pedagogical methods. This course will allow chemistry teachers to update and improve their subject knowledge in the light of the latest changes to the GCSE specifications and consider how best to support students in learning the subject.
Outcomes
You will be able to:
• Audit your knowledge and understanding of the new GCSE chemistry specification
• Identify new subject content and explore ways for teaching it including identifying common misconceptions
• Have opportunities to try a range of practical activities and consider the implications of the changes for how practical work is assessed
• Appreciate the increased mathematical demand for students
