Summary

Glasgow University is host to one of a small number of “Quantum Hubs” in the UK. Glasgow specialises in Quantum Imaging, which creates a stunningly interesting context for the theory teachers will be teaching in the new Senior Phase courses. The format of the course would follow that used in both the Astrophysics and Particle Physics RCUK days run in Scotland using the last tranche of RCUK funding. These were highly successful.

We have already run two Quantum Physics courses. This one will cover different content, based on suggestions from participants of previous courses who would like a follow-up.

Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  • understand the theory behind the quantum content they will be teaching
  • perform classroom activities that are part of the “quantum narrative”;
  • describe cutting edge applications of quantum theory.
