New istem+Hub Banbury

A new istem + hub has been set up in Banbury, consisting of 5 local secondary schools, a local independent school, primary schools, Stem learning, the IET, local Stem organisations and local businesses.  Between them the group represent over 5,000 students in the local area. The group have already organised a successful Girls Into Stem day where each school sent a group of year 7/8 girls to a day of workshops/events led by outside speakers and older students, hosted by Space Studio Banbury. The event was attended by the town mayor and the local MP: Victoria Prentis and the key note speaker was Orla Murphy, who won the IET Young Engineer of the Year and works at Jaguar Landrover. Future events for the Autumn term include a Big Bang Fair and a Careers event. We welcome new members who should contact Banbury Academy for details of our next meeting.

Many thanks, Julia.  That's a great development.  I hope it inspires others to set up iSTEM+ Hubs elsewhere.  Best wishes, Adrian
