Photography processing water bath temperature

Hi Everyone,

Another query from me:

We're moving to a new photography building next year and are looking at ways to keep our processing water baths at a constant 20 degrees c.

The water heaters that we have been using are now at the end of their life and we dont seem to be able to source an alternative. I'd be interested in how other institutions approach this.

Any pointers would be gratefully received.

thanks,

John

Hi John

Mixer tap, thermometer in the bath and we keep adjusting the temperature. It's not the most covenient solution but it works.

Not an expert in this, my only experience is home brewing! Not sure if these will be accurate enough to the temperature you need but heat mats and brew belts keep a nice homebrew at a steady temperature during fermentation!

Thanks both,

We've been advised agains the mixer tap solution by the engineers due to legionella risk at that temp.

Will investigate the heat mat solution.

Hello John,

try these:

Built for the job.

A bit fiddley to set up but once you have them set I find them very solid. If you are worried about losing too much evaporation then just add another tray as a cover. Another suggestion add a timer switch to the socket to ensure they are not left on over night,

I hope this helps,

Lawrence
