Vacancies for Apprentice Mechanical Engineering Technicians at the University of Leeds

Do you have an aptitude for and an interest in mechanical engineering? Do you want to begin your career as a technician in one of the top Universities in the country?

We are looking for two apprentices, eager to start careers as Mechanical Engineering Technicians. One apprentice will be based in our cross-Faculty Integrated Mechanical Workshop, which spans the Faculties of Mathematics and Physical Sciences (MAPS) and Engineering (reporting into the Faculty of MAPS). The other apprentice will provide support to the Schools within the Faculty of Engineering.

As part of our apprenticeship technical training scheme you will receive hands on training within our workshops, and be placed on an appropriate Engineering Mechanical apprenticeship course at levels 2 and 3, offered by a local college. You will be mentored by one of our senior technicians. On completion of your training you will have an ideal skill set to go on to a successful career as a technician, having learnt several disciplines of mechanical engineering, manufacture and assembly.
