What is engineering thinking?
You might have seen a blog on the National STEM Centre about a day of engineering that we hosted earlier this year. We experimented with materials, learned about circuits and more importantly, discovered how young engineers have never been in such a great position to change the world around us.
Teaching our students to think like an engineer can help enhance their understanding of science and D&T, whilst also helping to develop questioning, creativity and problem-solving skills.
On the 10th and11th of June, the centre is running an engineering course for teachers that would like to know more about engineering, find out new projects to try with students, and visit a high tech engineering facility to see examples of cutting edge engineering!
The 2 day course has a fee of £440, but for state funded schools and academies, there is an ENTHUSE bursary available of £674.
