I asked my class to come up with a Science display. We settled on 'Photosynthesis' as the topic because we were studying plants and it was a 'big idea' that we were struggling with at the time. The class looked at examples of "good" science displays and came up with a class success criteria for their own. We wanted our display to be "eye catching", " contain key science vocabularly", "explain the big ideas" and to be accompanied by a "creative diagram".

The children created sketches and discussed their designs in small groups. As a class, we came up with a plan and each group was allocated a role! The children had to use nonfiction texts and the internet to help them write explanations and used craft materials to help them collage. The children then went on to create iMovies  to bring the display to life!
