Technicians Christmas Cracker Event

This winter, you will encounter a variety of Christmas-themed sessions through both science and design & technology so invite your colleagues along to join in the Christmas fun. As always there will be a variety of scientific suppliers (hopefully in Christmas attire) you can chat with and discover new things for your school

What's on?

We'll be hosting several merry workshops and sessions, including:

Christmas chemistry with Senior Technician STEM Coordinator, Sarah Atkinson, where you will have the chance to take part in activities such as creating crystal Christmas trees, making Tollens baubles and more Christmas chemistry activities.

Biology bonkers with Professional Development Lead (PDL), Mary Howell, who will guide you through ponsettia plant-ph, Christmas paper chains, and testing the sugar content of liquids with a refractometer.

Chief Science Technician and STEM Coordinator, Angie Ridout, will run a session on Christmas STEM Club activities. These activities range from creating art with UV lights and Christmas light circuits to marble painting.

You will also have the chance to take part in a CSI Christmas and solve the puzzle of who killed Father Christmas with STEM Technician, Terri Hoggart.

In the afternoon join the Elf Yourself session to develop your skills further through exciting Christmas games and activities with PDL, Helen Rose, and Senior Lab Technician, Michelle Grange. There will also be a session on practicals with data logging with Lee Grahame from DataHarvest.
