One million miles

This Core Maths task provides an opportunity for students to create questions based on the idea of someone being awarded a certificate for traveling one million miles with an airline. Students are to decide what information they need to help them answer their questions and then to work out the answers. . 

The presentation gives an outline of the task and contains detailed teachers' notes. Students are encouraged to use the internet to search for information to help solve their questions.

No specific prior knowledge is required, and this task could involve number, finance, graphs and statistics.
