From Ancient to Future Solar Fuels

With the world’s population ever-expanding, energy demand is expected to double by 2050 and triple by 2100. In only 200 years, mankind has squandered what nature has taken hundreds of millions of years to lay down as fossil fuels.

The burning of these fossil fuels also releases carbon dioxide CO2, increased levels of CO2 in the atmosphere being a direct contributor to global warming. For the survival of our planet the question is, can we generate energy from a widely available, cheap, limitless source and can this be done without the release of additional CO2 into the atmosphere?
