Rethinking work experience

An overview of organizational and curricular development in work experience in the UK in recent years is provided, which draws on the involvement of the authors at national level in consultancy with the DES (Department of Education and Science), NCC (National Curriculum Council), DTI (Department of Trade and Industry), DoE (Department of Employment) and many LEAs (Local Education Authorities) concerning the role of work experience in the school curriculum.
