Inspire maths: assessment book 1

Inspire Maths builds firm foundations and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts through a concrete-pictorial-abstract approach, emphasising mastery to help children become confident and independent mathematicians. This Assessment Book provides regular summative assessments to create a record of progress for each child, and further supports the assessment opportunities outlined in the Teacher's Guide. The Assessment Book includes three main types of assessments: Tests, Check-ups and Challenging Problems.

Tests cover learning from the preceding two or three units of the Pupil Textbooks, Check-ups revisit the previous units and Challenging Problems are non-routine and unfamiliar questions that require children to use their repertoire of strategies.
