'Basic physics 1 and 2' is part of the 'Cambridge modular sciences' series for A and AS levels. It builds on the material covered in foundation physics, and provides an understanding of some of the fundamental concepts in advanced physics.

It contains material from the new A level common core for physics that covers mechanics and waves, electricity and magnetism, and matter and energy. To help students with study and revision, there are self-assessment questions throughout the text, a list of learning objectives at the start of each chapter and a summary of contents at the end.

Structured and essay questions also appear at the end of each chapter. Guidance for teachers can be found in the teachers' notes for the module which are published separately.
