Thinking through science 2
This course for Key Stage 3 Science brings together proven approaches to the development of pupil's thinking skills and the requirements of the National Curriculum for Science. Pupils should learn to think about their thinking whilst developing their knowledge and understanding of science within the context of the QCA Scheme of Work, which includes thinking skills.
The order in which specific skills are introduced is based on many years' research into pupils' cognitive development.;This course arises directly from the CASE project and aims to cultivate a thinking skills approach to science.
Those already involved with CASE should easily be able to use this course to approach the science curriculum through cognitive acceleration methods. For teachers unfamiliar with the CASE approach it should provide an integrated route into developing the thinking skills of their pupils.
