Planning for progression

This Triple Science Support guide provides an overview of four essential components of progression in science and how planning can support progression:

1. Organisation of that conceptual knowledge and understanding around key ideas

2. Clear learning targets that are focused on those central concepts

3. Levels of achievement or stages of progress that define significant intermediate steps in conceptual and skill development that most students might be expected to achieve

4. Assessments that measure student understanding of the key concepts or practices and can track their developmental progress over time.
