Earthquakes
In this resource pupils learn that the Earth’s surface is split into tectonic plates and that earthquakes usually happen at plate boundaries. They will explore how when an earthquake happens it releases vibrations, called seismic waves, which can be measured using seismographs and that earthquakes can cause tsunamis.
Activities include designing, creating and testing an earthquake resistant structure, and an experiment to create a tsunami in a plastic box.
