Amount of substance
These diagnostic questions and response activities (contained in the zip file) support students in being able to:
- Identify the elementary entities that make up one mole of a range of substances.
- Recognise that the atoms which make up different elements have different masses.
- Interpret relative atomic mass as a comparison scale that does not have a unit.
- Identify which element samples contain the same number of atoms.
- Calculate the mass of one mole of a substance with a simple molecular structure.
The resources include details of common misconceptions and a summary of the research upon which the resources are based.
