Adaptations to different habitats - EAL
This resource is suitable for students from ages 7 to 14 and looks at the Artic and desert environments and the adaptations of polar bears and camels to their respective habitats. Although these environments and animals are used extensively in resources when exploring this topic these resources provide excellent activities to encourage the correct use of language when comparing environments, explaining differences or justifying choices. The worksheets contain images to help pupils translate the language and lots of activities to encourage writing about this topic through the use of substitution tables and extended writing opportunities. There are 2 accompanying powerpoints. The one for beginners is suitable for primary aged pupil or secondary students with very limited language skills.
