This lesson focuses on the statement: Modern Society relies heavily on computers, without computer systems there would be chaos. Students are asked to reflect on this statement and discuss whether they believe this to be true. In groups they are asked to look at different areas of modern life and to research where computer systems have an impact on these and to consider what that area of life would look like if computers were not involved at all. They are then asked to do this again but for a slightly more difficult area of modern life. Students are then expected to feedback the results of their research to the other groups. There are videos which may or may not automatically appear in the presentation depending on the way school systems are configured, links to them can be found in the document which contains an overview of the scheme of work.
