Game in a Tin!
This cross-curricular activity asks children to design a game to be sold in a presentation tin, incorporating the tin into the game. The tins are all made from steel, so they are magnetic and may be printed with any design. Children can use anything you want to make the other parts of their game. It could be a game that already exists, like ‘noughts and crosses’, or ‘Ludo’ or a new game that they have invented. They could go on to make ‘mock-up’ games out of card to show what their designs will look like and write instructional text explaining how to play their game or creating an advertisement for their product. Included in the resource is one designer’s idea for a game, three templates of different tin designs and an extra activity where children promote the sale of their game through the creation of a podcast. This resource has been provided by the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association, (MPMA).
